The IAFM has continued to expand since 2008. In the past 12 months we have run more than twice as many training programs than in the previous year and projections for the next 12 months indicate that we will increase by another 100%.
This growth has come, in part, from us entering a number of new geographical areas. However, it has also been a result of training programs being introduced in new disciplinary areas. We now have new practice areas in Human Resources, Logistics and Emerging Markets consulting. We anticipate that each of these practice areas will continue to expand in 2012 with more than 5 times the program offerings for 2011. At the same time our project management practice, the International Academy of Project Management (IAPM), has also continued to expand and has very successfully introduced a number of new initiatives.
Because of the various new practice areas the IAFM is establishing the directors of the IAFM feel it is inappropriate that we continue to use a name which only embraces finance. Hence from the 1st December, 2011 the name of the IAFM has changed to the International Academy of Business and Financial Management (IABFM). The IABFM will be an umbrella organisation under which all practice areas of the IAFM and IAPM will fall. This will result in an improvement in the channels of communication throughout the organisation. The practice areas of Finance, Business, Human Resources Management, Project Management, Emerging Markets and Logistics will each have a senior person who will be responsible for the area.
We propose introducing these changes so that there is no disruption to our Members and Partners therefore some services will take some time to be completely implemented and hopefully you will only notice minor changes. There will be no change to the range of benefits and you will continue to receive the same level of support as previously.
In 2004 the Academy moved global operations to Dubai to cater for the rapid expansion seen in the Middle-East, India and China in the subsequent years. Since that time the Academy has experienced compound annual membership growth in excess 80% annually. In 2006 the membership approved the opening of its first fully branded training centre in Kuwait, other approved partner training centers operate in Hong Kong, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Thailand, and China. With the "American" Academy now encompassing more than 200,000 members and with 90% of its members living and working outside of the United States, the identity of the Academy was undergoing a significant change.
Building the world's leaders in business and finance
Yours sincerely
